Good Comparison, but without any solid conclusion. But a nice article.
I am selecting O levels for my son, as I believe the O level students are more practical and have more knowledge and grooming than matriculation. Myself done with matric but I think it's time to take the next step, I have interviewed few O level students and they have much clear thoughts and progressive than any ordinary Matric Students.

Awesome, thank you! I myself am in the UK, so we do the GCSE here - roughly equating to the IGCSE/O' Level offered by CIE in Pakistan! My cousin's just moved back here to the UK from Pakistan whilst she was in Year 10 there. Having not completed her O' Levels, she arrived in Year 11 - so is now doing her GCSE course here, taking her exams in 2 months' time. :-D

She's said there's a lot of difference between the two courses, but she said the transition has been made easier, owing to her O' Level studies. Had she been doing Matric, she wouldn't have understood the concepts of what she's being taught - as most of the course is known to be learnt by rote.

Hi.. Im 13, and have recently passed 7th grade with 81%. I used to study in an O-levels school (studied 5th & 6th grade from there) But i felt that the studies were really hard and went to The educators. They have a matriculation system here and I'm now in 8th grade..(We have 9th course in 8th grade) I feel that their system really suck & now I want to do O'levels. Should I do my studies from here or go to an O'levels school.. and are there any good O'level schools in Islamabad?

thnx for giving knowledge

But one thing is to be very clear to everyone that matriculation students are also better than olevelers because it depends upon mental approach. I myself studied in a village and I beat the city olevelers in IQ and talent. No doubt that are always considered as the best but considered best by those who are dumb heads. Today I am captain of PIA 747 and I am proudly say that I am a matriculation student. No doubt this kid has given a very appreciative explanation but only for dumb minds. I reached this goal through my extraordinary talent but this all depends upon mental approach. God bless this kid

There's also the aga khan board. I chose it instead of sindh board intermediate after olevels, and it happens to be the best decision i've ever made. Brilliantly functional, a curriculum it is. Really helps.

My name is Minahil
I m in 8th standard.
I m very confused that what I have to go for.
I want to know about its fees taken In Lahore schools.
And I also want to know that can I go for medical if I do o levels and a levels?
Regards.

Well! That was helpful but I just wanna know that can A- levels be done without doing O- level??
The thing which I personally noted in matriculation system is that concept doesn't matter at all, only cramming /ratta workouts if you want to pass your matrick exam with high marks.Because ratta is considered to be accurate and presise.I don't know that how other boards are doing but in my region .....…..only this work outs.

Fees in Lahore schools are:
Beacon house, Rs. 11,000 per month
LGS Rs. 22,000 pm
Aitchison Rs. 25,000 pm
Sicas Rs, 19,000 pm

I'm in Beaconhouse, 8th grade and I have to chose between matric and O-levels in the next few months. I am planning to go for medical but I am still confused if I should do matric or o-levels so that it will help me in the medical admission tests. What do you prefer?

I am in 8th grade and I want to ask that whether to do A levels or FSC after O LEVELS if I want to get admission in Pakitan

Excellent, this is great information.

I did matric and my bro O levels. When we sit and compare our thoughts, we come to know that either Cambridge or local board courses, one who puts hard work, time and dedication succeeds. It's okay to decide for any of these options depending on your financial condition. Only make sure you give time and study honestly. I have seen students with matric and inter doing great in practical fields than O and A levels and vice versa. All is up to your sincere efforts in what you choose in life.

U make me easier to pick my thoughts on one platform as it was roaming around to meet the answers of my quests...well em going to start taking tuitions for o levels is their anyone who coukd guide me regarding this?

Thats a good thing but it depends on your child, what he want to do in future. If he want to pursue a career in Pakistan as in the case of Medical studies(Doctor),then he must do matric/FSC path which is a way too familiar and benefical in MCAT.But if he want to pursue a career in abroad then go for Olevel/As level path.I had myself done O levels with 5A* which are excellant but farther on to get admitted to Medical colleges then I have to gain maximum marks in FSC.Because there is an Equivalence problem of Olevel/Alevel grades which results in very less aggregate percentage and marks. As the concern of concepts, there is no such thing as Matric and Fsc students having no clear concepts. Its depends on our studing style in that regard KIPS institutes help to clear the concepts of FSC and matric students. They are not less than O/Alevel students.

Matriculation system is not comparable with O level but believe me guys O level system is very much comparable with Aga Khan Examination board.
In AKUEB you act in a more realistic way with the development of your kids future in Pakistan or any where in the world. The paper technique in AKU board is very logical and just like O level. No parents can predict that they might able to send there children abroad or not due to gigantic expenses or low grades in the race of A* in every subject. So please be realistic and adopt Win Win situation be safe and adopt AKU EB for your children from initial stage its very much inclined to O level and also not that much expensive and its more transparent, scoring and logical for our children.

is it really true when you said that O level and A level is accepted worldwide. By that you mean only in UK or America or should it be considered as an excuse for the so-called "developed countries" to monopolize education as you adequately put that matriculation is more affordable and considered as a standard among the masses. For me O and A levels only causes heterogeneity in our schooling system, the same quality and improved standards can very well be introduced in matriculation and there are people rigorously working on that, even if you look at our neighbor India it possesses a homogeneous system.
